The ladies of the Houston Burlesque Revue helped celebrate their creator Lady Jae's Birthday on Saturday at Avant Garden ~ the crowd cheered on the ladies as they dances the night away under the Scorpio moon! Lots of friends and family came out and the ladies would like to thank everyone who came out to enjoy the show!!

Houston Burlesque Revue in Modern Luxury HOUSTON MAGAZINE!!!

Cocktail shakers busted out their best moves at Wash Ave gastro pub Hughes Hangar at the Inspired Bartender cocktail competition. The brand’s mixologists tracked down the best libation-makers all over the nation for city taste-offs using Bombay Sapphire’s Aquamarie Blue gin. At stake for the competitors: a spot in the national finals in Las Vegas and a spread in GQ magazine. After the Houston Burlesque Revue put on a rather saucy performance, the judges graded a single gin drink from 20 local bartenders like Claire Sprouse from Beaver’s, who advanced to the final round last year. This year’s winning concoction went to Anvil’s Alex Gregg for his Zydeco Fiddle, with ginger beer, lemon, apricot brandy, celery bitters and a bacon-wrapped carrot garnish. Cheers! Burlesque Beach Babes Day!

The Ladies of the Houston Burlesque Revue enjoyed a beautiful Friday off and drove down to Galveston Island for the day! They enjoyed Bombshell Blonde Beers, some great seafood and a nice swim in the Gulf of Mexico! Dance conversations took over as the ladies discussed upcoming shows and events ~ Even on a day off the ladies have Burlesque on the Brains!

Burlesque Beginnings!

Wow well here we are in the first week back to school as the summer winds down and we burlesque ladies have been busy little bees!

First of all we had a fabulous debut show at the 4th annual Houston Fringe Festival August 11,12 &13! Lots of friends and family came out to support us and we were very proud to be apart of the entire Fringe Festival experience! Secondly, we had the privilege of being asked to perform on August 16th at Bombay Sapphire and GQ magazine "Most Inspired Bartender Competition". Motley Mayhem and Roo La La dazzled the audience with their tap battle, Lady Jae tempted the audience with her seductive couch solo, then  Nicci & St. Stella joined the rest of the ladies to finish the night off right with HBR's rendition of "Tainted Love".  It was a magical night filled with gin, satin gloves and burlesque beauties!

Finally, to finish off this week and get ready for our next set of rehearsals and performances, the ladies of Houston Burlesque Revue are spending a day at the Beach! We are headed to Galveston this Friday the 26th for a day of beach blanket bingo,fruity cocktails, tanning oil and barely there bikinis!
